Well, after years of wanting to write, many months of planning this blog, weeks of planning design and format, and untold hours of researching blogging etiquette and interests, we finally have this up and running!
Ruby and Theresa would be proud of this launching! They are my grandmothers, you see, and both were born in an era where washing machines were hand cranked, travel could still be arranged by covered wagon, and news was broadcast via radio and the movie shows!
Yet this afternoon, their granddaughter and great-granddaughter (ok...the great-granddaughter is way more techno-savvy!) managed to spend a fabulously hot Texas afternoon hunched over a stack of laptops, iPads, and iPhones to realize the envisionment!
While one of us was navigating design and features, the other (sadly...me) struggled with a whole new adventure of terminology and mapping, but happily checking progress, what the user end looked like, and most importantly mother-daughter time for sharing the happy feel that Ruby and Theresa passed onwards to my parents, providing me in all my years growing up and learning to utilize my creative strengths.
As we move forward, the technology will only be a tool, as we will clear the tables to pull out sewing machines, glue guns, rolling pins, and measuring cups. My hopes are to make this a fun place to visit, tag and pin, bring new life to old projects, share ideas and recipes, kick back and giggle. Live life.
